The YLY-H Intelligent Polarizing Stress Tester uses the principle of the polarized light method and offers two measurement modes: qualitative and quantitative. It is widely used for testing the internal stress of various glassware and glass containers.

Principle

The tester utilizes the principle of polarized light interference to examine the internal stress in glass or the birefringence effect in crystals. Equipped with sensitive color plates and employing the 1/4 wave plate compensation method, the polarizing stress meter can qualitatively or semi-quantitatively measure the optical path difference in glass based on the interference color sequence observed in the polarizing field. Additionally, it can accurately gauge internal stress by considering the wall thickness.
